About Rachel…

Rachel’s love of dance began at an early age.  She tried a class at 4 years old and it didn’t take long for her to grow into an eager student.  A weekly combo class for beginners soon turned into more and more studio time and a wide variety of styles. Rachel began her extensive dance training at the age of four in Lionville, PA. Under the direction of Cathy Bartelmo-Moran, Rachel trained in ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, lyrical, hip-hip, modern and even dabbled in Irish step, with teachers such as Kimberly Martin, Corinne Karon, and Rennie Harris. After receiving numerous scholarship offers, Rachel chose to attend Towson University to pursue a B.F.A. in Dance Performance.

During her four years at Towson, Rachel studied with Linda-Denise Fisher-Harrell, formally of Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, and Broadway sensation Keith Lamelle Thomas. She had the opportunity to perform several times with the dance company and work with some great choreographers, such as Dion Wilson, Vincent Thomas, Juan Carlos Blanco, and performed a pas de deux choreographed by Carlos Danaan. She also continued her love of theatre by taking classes with the theatre department, performing in student productions of musicals, as well as participating in a performance of High School Musical with Winters Lane Productions.  Rachel graduated from the dance department Summa Cum Laude.

After graduation Rachel began her musical theatre career and has performed at such prestigious theatres as The Walnut Street Theatre in Philadelphia, Bristol Riverside, where she worked with Tovah Feldshuh (Funny Girl) and Robert Newman (Guiding Light), West Chester Broadway Theatre, The Gretna Theatre in Mt. Gretna, PA, as well as several shows at The Media Theatre where she has worked with Ann Crumb (Aspects of Love) and Kyle Lowder (Days of Our Lives).  In addition to performing, Rachel has also acted as Dance Captain in numerous productions.

Last year Rachel was seen portraying Arista in The Little Mermaid at the Walnut Street Theatre, and is excited to be returning this holiday season for their production of Cinderella.
